IRCE Highlight - PrestaShop

While in Chicago I stopped by my friends at PrestaShop. There are many eCommerce companies out there, but the folks at PrestaShop are some of the best in the biz. Although I’m no longer in the travel around the world and bring back trinkets to sell online business any longer, if I do reenter that field of adventures, I’m pretty sure I’m going to set up my new online store using the tools PrestaShop provides.

Unlike other eCommerce outfits, PrestaShop is completely free to use. There are no fees and no commissions. You simply set up your online store as you see fit. They give you all the tools you need to build a store that works for you. Their latest version, PrestaShop 1.7 has hundreds and hundreds of features. You can manage your items, their inventory, create sales, choose ways people can pay, manage your orders, and analyze your sales. While their starting shopping cart is free to use, there is a large marketplace of modules you can add on to your online store to enhance it. For example, you can purchase models that will integrate your store into marketplaces like Google, Amazon, Jet, or eBay.

However, the best thing about PrestaShop are the people. They have a crack support staff that is ready to help you and they are very experienced in troubleshooting problems. The entire company really wants to make it as easy as possible to get people selling online. I have been fortunate enough to cross paths with these fine folks a few times in my travels to IRCE in Chicago. They are hard to miss as their mascot is often there taking pictures with people. Even though I currently have nothing to sell online, they are always very eager to trade ideas with me and talk about selling things online if that’s a route I want to take someday.

This blog post really doesn’t do them justice. There is so much available at PrestaShop, you should really check them out for yourself. From what I understand, it is very easy to migrate to their system and they are certainly ready to help if there are any hiccups. Take a look, try them out, and tell them Colt Sebastian Taylor sent you. You won’t get anything if you name drop me, but it’ll be funny if that eventually comes back to me.

Good luck selling online friends!

Check out some fun pictures I took with them.
