I May Have Interviewed The Next Mayor of Philadelphia
As you may or may not know, I often visit Philadelphia on a regular basis. I like to take an interest in local news, so I followed the Philadelphia primary with a bit of interest. Before the primary I tweeted and emailed every candidate running for mayor a request to interview them, even Milton Street. Each one politely turned me down or just didn’t reply to me. I wasn’t terribly insulted. I mean, who has time for an adventurer like me?
On primary day in Philadelphia, I tweeted out several candidates, including Melissa Murray Bailey. She was the only one running in the Republican primary. I decided to tweet her and much to my surprise, she replied!
We were eventually able to find gaps in our respective schedules and met in Washington Square Park for a 20 minute chat. It was a lot of fun and I think she has a good chance of winning if people take some time and listen to her.
